This week, my hometown of Kristianstad is hosting more than 18,000 Scouts from all over the world for Scout Jamboree 2026. It felt like the perfect opportunity to create something special using TreasureQuesting.
So I built three free treasure hunts for everyone attending.
Turning the Jamboree into an Adventure
The Scout Jamboree is already full of activities, but I wanted to create something that encouraged participants to explore the campsite in a different way.
Instead of simply walking from one area to another, players solve riddles, crack codes, follow GPS locations, and uncover clues that slowly reveal the story behind a stolen treasure chest.
Each treasure hunt takes around 30 to 60 minutes to complete, depending on the difficulty you choose.
Three Difficulty Levels
Not everyone enjoys the same type of challenge, so there are three different versions available.
The easy version is perfect for younger Scouts or anyone looking for a relaxed adventure.
The medium version adds more challenging puzzles and requires a bit more observation and problem solving.
The hard version is designed for experienced puzzle solvers who enjoy cryptography, logic, and thinking outside the box.
Built for the Real World
One of my favorite parts of TreasureQuesting is combining digital puzzles with real locations.
Players move around the Jamboree campsite using GPS while solving challenges that are connected to the places they visit. The experience runs directly in the browser, so there is no app to install. All you need is a phone with GPS and an internet connection.
The treasure hunts are also available through the official Scout Jamboree app, making them easy for participants to discover.
Why I Built Them
TreasureQuesting has always been about encouraging exploration.
Whether it is discovering a new city, creating a birthday adventure, planning a date, or organizing a team-building event, I love seeing people interact with the world instead of just looking at a screen.
Creating something for one of the world's largest Scout gatherings felt like a perfect match.
Hopefully thousands of Scouts will get to experience a little extra adventure during their week at the Jamboree.
